ALL three South Perth Bowling Club first-|division sides stumbled last week in the Bowls WA metropolitan pennant competition.
The Premier League side hosted Cambridge on Friday night, losing narrowly 74-78 (1-7) in a competitive affair.
The win enabled Cambridge to move to the top of the table, while the Millers must regroup for another home Friday night fixture this week against Doubleview.
One Blue North also had a tough assignment and came up well short at first-placed Warwick.
The 60-110 (0-8) loss drops South Perth to sixth with three rounds remaining.
It was better news for Four White, who travelled to Willetton.
The visitors gradually gained the ascendancy, recording a 74-63 (7-1) win.
Midweek One White lost a tight home encounter with Gosnells. The 57-60 (1.5-4.5) result saw South Perth fall to second on the table, with Sorrento now only two points back in third.
Two White had a convincing 70-39 (6-0) away win at Hollywood-Subiaco and is now well placed to make a run at promotion back to first division.
Four Blue continued its good recent form, accounting for hosts Osborne Park 64-53 (5-1), and overtaking the team on the ladder with the win.
The combined South Perth/Como Six Red side received a forfeit from Armadale.
Friday night women’s Red division came up short against Nollamara, 30-37 (1-3) but remains in pennant-winning calculations with three rounds remaining.
Saturday Two Lime produced another stirring finish to overcome hosts Gosnells 40-36 (4-0) and has now won four of its past six outings.
