Bowls: South Perth on top in pennants opener

SOUTH Perth Bowling Club made a winning start to 2018 when midweek pennants resumed last Thursday.

All three sides were victorious, enabling each team to consolidate their ladder positions.

One White held on to withstand the challenge from a determined Vic Park-Carlisle side. Only three shots separated the teams, with the hosts scoring a 65-62 (4-2) win.

Two White had a 25-shot (6-0) away win over Manning 2, (80-55).

And Four Blue recorded their fourth consecutive win with a five-shot defeat of Warwick at home.

On Saturday, the South Perth Premier League team scored a19 shot (7-1) victory over fourth placed Manning.

One Blue North travelled to North Beach and lost 69-86 (2-6), ending a four-game undefeated streak.

Four White hosted Gosnells with a 85-69 (7-1) victory helping to cement their place in the top four.

On Friday night, the women’s Red division side could not overcome Cambridge, losing 26-33 (1-3).
