Como Croquet Club relishing chance to host 2016 ACA Golf Croquet Nationals

STATE pride is on the line over the next few days at the Como Croquet Club for the 2016 ACA Golf Croquet Nationals.

The Interstate Shield competition is taking place at the club, with five days of competition to culminate in the final on Sunday.

Como Croquet Club president Alan Sands said the level of competition had been high during the tournament.

“We also hosted the men’s and women’s singles and the experience has been great for the club,” he said.

“It’s an opportunity to spruce up the club and build on what we have.

“Our players have been able to view some really good play and see the skill and tactics that they would not normally be able to see.”

Mr Sands said he hoped WA would be able to compete in the final on Sunday in Como.

“New South Wales, Victoria and WA all have a chance to be in the final but in croquet there are always upsets,” he said.
