CAPTAIN Darren Kavanagh was back this week to lead the First Grade Belmont Cricket Club side into battle against Karrinyup, who are currently sixth on the ladder and hoping to reinforce their status in the league.
At the end of day one of the two-day game, Belmont finished on 260, with outstanding performances from Tirmazi (53), Taylor Tobias(47) and Pescud (45).
The teams next meet this Saturday.
WHEN Belmont Second Grade meet Ferndale it is always a tight game and this match promised to be no different.
Ferndale were all out for 170 after a fantastic effort from Shane McPhee (3-24), McLamchin (3-44) and Bhatt (2-9).
A LOCAL clash in Fifth Grade saw Belmont end 191 all out against Carlisle on the back of a great partnership between Nicholls (43) and Hickey (77).
Play ended with Carlisle on 1-9.
IN the only one-day game, it was first versus third on the ladder in the clash between BCC and Greenrange.
Jason Smythe played his 250th game for the club and had figures of 2-33.
A great contributor to the club, Smythe has maintained his love for the game, playing First Grade and several other grades over the years.
Unfortunately Belmont were pipped by Greenrange, all out for 170 despite the best efforts of R Creighton, who had impressive figures of 6-37.
Greenrange were all out for 174.
