The former has several national events behind him but it will be the first time Crofts has been on the national stage.

About 15 Arrows divers, including Sarah Watson from South Perth, will compete in categories from 11-and-under to 30-49 at the four-day event that will attract about 150 divers and their families to Perth.

Norman, who won gold on the one-metre board at the World Masters in 2009, will compete in three events this weekend.

He said he was nervous about competing in the tower section but it was ‘fun to get out there’.

In contrast, Crofts said he had no nerves going into possibly three events.

The Hale School student, who took up diving two years ago,said he enjoyed the sport because ‘it’s fun and it’s not too strict’.

‘The three-metre board is my favourite,’ he said.
