Golf: Manning junior following in grandmother’s footsteps

Bronwyn DonovanSouthern Gazette

MANNING resident Amelie Reed finished runner up at Royal Perth Golf Club’s (PRGC) MyGolf girls five-hole Tiger Tee’s competition late last year.

The 10-year-old joined the Girls Club program three years ago after being inspired by her grandmother Lyn Cook, RPGC women’s captain until 2016.

“I’m really liking golf and I’m getting better and better everyday,” Reed said.

“I like seeing the friends I have made in the program and playing in the relaxing sea breeze.”
