The seniors will appear in the post-season for the first time since 2014-15, as rookie receiver Scott Witchge once again stood out with 25 of Blitz’s points.

Blitz scored in each quarter and were able to keep the Wolverines scoreless after quarter time.

The team in blue will enter 2019 third in the standings.

In the earlier women’s game, quarterback Lou Devine-Egan’s comeback from injury proved the difference with her precise throwing.

The women managed a 30-point second quarter, which included three late touchdowns to end the first half, to blow the game wide open.

Victory secured the Blitz in second place heading into the league-wide break.

Meanwhile the Wolverines surrender of the juniors’ game means the Blitz cannot be knocked out of the top four.

The Blitz will resume their season on Saturday, January 5 when they take on Perth Broncos at Lightning Park.
