The trainer said his horse Waylade – to be driven by his son Gary Hall junior – is his best chance at winning. The New Zealand import is the highest ranked WA horse in the 30-horse competition.

His other major contender, My Hard Copy, was the second highest ranked WA entry.

The Inter Dominion returns to Gloucester Park for the first time since 2012. It is the richest harness race in the world and has attracted entries from across Australia and New Zealand.

The series will run over three nights, with three heats per night. It starts on November 27 and the a grand final will be on December 13.

A total of 30 riders will run in the series with the top 10 running in the grand final.

Hall has won the grand final three times with Im Themightyquinn from 2011-2013.

“I think of the 30 horses competing, 20 of them had some winning hope,” he said.

“That is good for the series as everyone goes in with a bit of hope.”

“Probably Waylade is my best chance and My Hard Copy could be a second stringer.”

One of the key elements of the Inter Dominion Series is getting the horses through the three runs in a week.

Horses have to run on November 27, December 1 and December 4 in order to qualify for the grand final.

Hall said the three runs in one week would not be an issue for the “tough” Waylade despite being relatively young and less experienced.
