Hunter said he had a lot of fun competing in America and believed it was a good experience.
“It was tough mentally because I was playing in more than 100F (37C) and I would only sometimes play in temperatures that hot in Perth,” he said.
Hunter practises three times a week at courses around Perth, including Royal Perth Golf Club, with tutor Emma Liebenau.
Hunter’s father Andrew said throughout all of the tournaments his son showed great skill but also tremendous courage and determination.
“Hunter’s mental toughness was commented about by others on a number of occasions, he never quits and he doesn’t give up,” he said, adding he also acknowledged the good play of his opponents.
