THE Manning Rippers Junior Football Club enjoyed a great end to the season with two of its teams claiming premierships.

The Year 7 side defeated Victoria Park 6.4 (40) to 3.3 (21) in the Perth Demons Junior District grand final while the Year 10 side defeated Caversham 15.10 (100) to 1.3 (9) in the grand final of the Barry Cable Division on September 11.

It was the third consecutive premiership for the Year 10s after competing with teams across the Swan Districts, Perth and East Perth Districts.

Coach Mat Bateman has led the team to their three grand final wins.

“They have a lot of natural talent but it is their ability to work together that makes them special,” he said.

“No one individual is greater than the team and they all clearly live and breathe that philosophy”

The club re-established its junior sides after folding in the 1990s and this year now have more than 350 players enjoying the fun of playing football from the introductory Auskick programme through all the year groups to the Year 10 level.
