Mason, of Cloverdale, won gold in the 7-year-old 22kg to 24kg division on Sunday, June 20.
Amazingly, he only took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu six months ago, but has practised MMA Taijitsu from the age of five.
He trains in Burswood at MMA 24/7 where he enjoys the camaraderie, mum Amy Cornthwaite said.
He now practises three different styles of martial arts at his club including Greco-Roman wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and MMA Taijitsu.

‘The guy that runs the gym did a demo at the school and I put him in more for my own peace of mind for when he got older but he has loved it ever since.’
