Netball: Wilson Park in Rivervale abuzz with carnival action

IT’S been a busy month for Belmont’s netballers, with Wilson Park in Rivervale hosting thousands of competitors for their last carnival of the year.

The Belmont Netball Association’s (BNA) event saw more than 2000 competitors and spectators flocking to Wilson Park.

Five junior teams and one open team represented the BNA, with the 12s winning and the 11s pulling off a hat-trick with three wins at three carnivals.

President Cathy McCafferty said they had great feedback about the event, and even had a team from Margaret River come up.

Local netballers also recently raised funds for the McGrath Foundation with a colourful Pull On Your Socks event, with players and spectators donning their brightest pink clothing for breast cancer aid.
