PERTH Blitz walked away with three victories from three close encounters against the West Coast Wolverines on Saturday.
The round 7 Gridiron West match-up at James Miller Oval saw the juniors record a 22-14 upset victory, the women triumph 16-14, and the seniors come from behind to win 22-16.
The seniors were up 14-0 at quarter time, but a hungrier Wolverines side clawed their way back into the game to lead at half time 16-14.
Scores remained locked deep into the game until quarterback Andrew Perez marched the Blitz up the field and hit receiver Scott Witschge to score the winning touchdown with 20 seconds remaining.
The seniors have now won five games in a row and sit third on the standings.
Earlier in the day, the women remain undefeated this season recording their fifth victory.
Injuries have hit Blitz hard lately, particularly on offense, and the women turned to a powerful running game to hit the scoreboard.
With scores locked at 14-14, linebacker Laura Molloy brought down the Wolverines’ quarterback in their own end zone to score a safety and walk away two point victors.
The juniors kicked off the day with a contest which also featured a run-heavy game.
Both teams fielded Australian Outback representatives and it was the Blitz who came out stronger from the outset.
Blitz have won two consecutive games to move into fourth on the standings.
Next week, the women will have a bye while the juniors and seniors are set to play Westside Steelers at Craigie on Friday night.
