The Redbacks men had a strong 101-94 win over the South West Slammers in Eaton.

Bennie Lewis top-scored with 23 while bringing down six rebounds and making five assists.

In his 200th game, shooting guard Jarrad Prior scored 21, which included hitting five from nine three-point shots.

However, the Redbacks’ men had a heartbreaking 94-95 overtime loss against Mandurah Magic after the game was tied 88 apiece at the end of regular time. Centre Justin Brown top-scored for the Redbacks with 21 along with 21 rebounds, while point-guard Adam Johnston had 19 along with six assists and six rebounds.

The Redbacks’ men are in fifth place in the 14-team competition.

The Redbacks’ women’s team lost to the Slammers 52 to 63.

Point-guard Rachel Lisch top-scored for the Redbacks with 21 and had five rebounds while centre Marita Payne scored nine along with nine rebounds.

However, they bounced back to beat Magic 57 to 44. Payne dominated with 19 along with 18 rebounds.

The action continues on Friday at Belmont Oasis when the Redbacks take on Lakeside Lightning, with the women’s game starting at 6.30pm and the men’s game at 8.30pm.
