Redbacks reign on the road

The Redbacks’ men’s 105 to 98 win lifts them to five wins and three losses, moving up one place to fifth in the 14-team competition.

A 36-point third-quarter effort saw them turn around an 11-point half-time deficit to go into the last quarter with an 82 to 79 lead, which they stretched out to their eventual seven-point win.

Small forward Benny Lewis top scored for the Redbacks with 25 and brought down 12 rebounds.

Centre Justin Brown had 24 points and 10 rebounds while power forward Michael Vigor scored 17 and had 13 rebounds.

Shooting guard Jarrad Prior scored 16 along with three steals while point guard Joel Wagner was a strong contributor with 12 assists and 11 points.

The Redbacks’ women’s had a strong 45 to 40 win over the Eagles.

The win moves them two places up the ladder to ninth in the 12-team competition with two wins and four losses.

The action continues this Friday when the Redbacks take on the Bunbury Slammers at the Eaton Recreation Centre, with the women’s game starting at 6.30pm.

The men’s game at 8.30pm.

This is followed by a home game against Mandurah Magic at the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre.

The women’s game tips off at 6pm and the men’s game at 8pm.
