RIVERVALE Hockeyroo Georgia Wilson has taken home her first medal as part of the national team.
Wilson played a key role in the 2-0 triumph over New Zealand at the Oceania Cup in Sydney last weekend.
Teammate Kristina Bates said the victory was an amazing feeling after last year’s Olympic defeat.

READ NOW“The Kiwis have had it over us the last couple of tournaments so it’s really good to get the win,” she said.
“It puts us in a good spot heading in to the Commonwealth Games next year. It’s a good result for us.”
The Kookaburra’s also defeated New Zealand 6-0, with South Perth’s Trent Mitton taking to the field.
Australia’s men and women had already claimed 2018 World Cup qualification, but will gain valuable rankings points from the triumph.
