“After the junior competition, I will also compete in the Women’s Team Championships in May.“My long term goal would be to play on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour like Minjee Lee who is a family friend and inspiration to me.

“But, for this competition, at my home club I hope to finish in the top three as my local knowledge should hopefully give me an advantage.”

The WA girls last captured the interstate teams title in 2005.

GolfWA high performance co-ordinator Fritz Arnold said the current crop of junior talent in WA was very promising.

“I have no doubt that the teams selected to represent our State will produce successful results throughout the interstate matches,” Arnold said.

The competition will run April 15-19, with the girls playing at Royal Perth Golf Club, and boys at Hartfield Golf Club.

All 15 members from the boys’ and girls’ teams will also compete in the Australian Junior Amateur Championships taking place April 11-13.
