PERTH Cricket Club dominated their local derby against South Perth with first innings points earned on day one at Richardson Park in Premier Cricket on Saturday.
The high-flying Demons will chase outright points next round after outplaying the Sky Blues on the first day of their two-day Round Six clash.
South Perth were bowled out for 122 with Perth at 1-156 in reply with in-form Jonathan Wells (63*) and debutant Tom Casey (65*) at the crease.
It’s a dream debut for Casey, who forced his way into the Perth First Grade side after three fifties and a century in the past four games in Second Grade.
Earlier, Ryan Duffield claimed 4-23, with Michael Grzinic (2-38) and Liam Guthrie (2-38) in strong support.
WA Under-19’s captain Brooke Guest provided the only resistance with 37 as South Perth lost captain Hugh Brown (golden duck) and the in-form Trent Ovens (10) cheaply.
Nathan Keoh (24) and Antony Radunovich (21) tried to halt the demise but upon their departures, South Perth lost 4-0.
