MEMBERS of a swimming club in Victoria Park are hoping to make a splash thanks to a funding boost.
The newly formed Somerset Swimming Club has been awarded a $1000 grant by Bankwest, as part of the company’s Easy Grants program.
Swimming club president Ian Davey said the money will be used to buy essential computerised timekeeping equipment to be used in competitions.
“Being a newly formed swimming club we’re in much need of various items of equipment to enable our kids to train, develop and improve their swimming,” he said.
Bankwest’s customer communications and brand general manager Nichole Banks said it was wonderful to see how the grants assisted community groups such as the Somerset Swimming Club.
“Bankwest is committed to helping customers and local businesses achieve what matters, contributing to the development of our communities and being a positive voice in the debate on the future of the WA economy,” she said.
