Tennis: bad light leaves Kings Park atop women’s league

Warren HardingSouthern Gazette

FAILING light brought women’s State Tennis League matches to a close between Hensman Park and Blue Gum with a similar draw between North Beach and Cottesloe; leaving Kings Park well clear on top of the women’s table.

In the men’s league, Mt Lawley Tennis Club backed up last week with another win over Bayswater 5-1 and Kings Park could not match their triumphant women and went down one rubber to five against Hensman Park.

Cottesloe caused a huge 5-1 upset over leaders Mosman Park (MPTC) who the week earlier had destroyed Hensman.
