Trinity rises up ranks with each netball shot

THE list of achievements by a Rivervale netballer keeps growing as she nabbed a netball scholarship at the Western Australian Institute of Sport.

Trinity Rond (16) was part of an All Australian Team that won silver at the international championships in New Zealand earlier this month.

Trinity received a scholarship at WAIS for 2019/20, which included training with more experienced professionals and regular gym time.

“I never really go to the gym so that’ll be something different,” she said.

She competed in Brisbane this April as part of the WA under-17 team, where she earned selection for the National Squad Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport.

The Ursula Frayne Catholic College Year 11 student said she started playing netball in Year 2, following the footsteps of her older sister.

“People think that it’s a non-contact sport but it’s very physical and competitive,” she said.

With the all the achievements under her belt, Trinity said she was happy to take the opportunities as they come.

“You just have to put in the effort and work hard,” she said.

“I just have this competitiveness and I love being able to improve.”
