Vic Park-based triathlon club rebrands at Eclipse Performance Centre

Aaron CorlettSouthern Gazette

A VICTORIA Park-based triathlon club has rebranded itself in a move to help its juniors compete on a bigger stage.

Eclipse Fitness has now become the Eclipse Performance Centre after changing its name on August 1.

Director and assistant coach Bonnie Durham said the decision to change the name and business structure to a not-for-profit company was something that was coming for the last 18 months.

“The decision was made so we can attract more funding opportunities and then send our athletes to the eastern states to perform against other high performance athletes,” she said.

“By being a not-for-profit organisation it means it will be easier to fundraise.”

Durham said the club would hold an open day at the Aqualife Centre in Victoria Park on September 10 to attract more members.

“The idea of the idea is to see what we are about, we cater for beginners, juniors and seniors,” she said.

“We’ve had smaller events but this is the biggest open day that we’ve ever had and we are being supported by Aqualife and Triathlon WA to hold it.”
