WACA Premier Cricket: bowlers share spoils in Perth’s win over Fremantle

PERTH defeated Fremantle in an important fixture to get its season back on track.

After the Demons posted 208 during the previous weekend, both teams were missing players to State duties but Perth bowled out Fremantle for 183, with Sean Roberts, Liam Guthrie and Alex Calmy all taking three wickets.

In the lower grades, it was pleasing to see the young Demons bat for long periods to get victory.

In the second-grade match, Connor Smith compiled 97 (230 balls) and Joel Curtis made 62 to give their side a comfortable win finishing at 4-264.

A patient 62 from Rhys McVeigh got Perth home in the Thirds as Brenton Williams had another fine all-round game.

The fourth-grade side did not have enough runs on the board but under-17 players Martyn Bernardino and Jaiah Moore got to experience senior cricket and collected some wickets.
