THREE Perth Demons players were charged with engaging in a melee during the round five match against South Fremantle last Saturday.
Perth’s Angus Graham, Brett Wolfenden and Julian Jacobs were charged and South Fremantle’s Timothy Kelly and Ashton Hams were charged also.
The players can accept a $50 sanction with an early plea.
South Fremantle’s Matthew Gundry was also charged during the game and can accept a $100 sanction with an early plea.
South Fremantle’s first quarter goal blitz set the tone in their victory over Perth, ending with a final score of 21.10 (136) to 4.14 (38).
Coming off a six-day break after a 49-point loss to Subiaco, the Demons played without Dene and Spencer White who were off with leg injuries.
The South Fremantle Bulldogs, who have been yet to lose a match this season, started the game kicking seven goals to none by quarter time.
They continued to dominate the stats with 47 more disposals, seven extra inside 50s and 14 more tackles.
The Demons came back at the scoreboard in the second quarter, with stand-in captain Jared Bell working to restrain the Bulldogs forward line.
The Bulldogs pushed from the backline, kicking five goals to two in the third quarter and stretched the margin to 63 points ahead of the final quarter.
The Demons were beaten on the disposal count with 149 less touches than their opposition.
Jacobs picked up 31 disposals including seven marks, while Clint Jones had 29 touches and Aiden Tropiano 22.
The Demons face off against East Perth this Saturday at Lathlain Park.
