Wildcats get inspirational

Although partially contributing to the Wildcats ‘training’ for their upcoming final, the team was there as part of their inspire program to help students to improve academically, behaviourally and with their attendance.

Tranby principal Mark Burns said the program had been a great boost to the school community and the players not only helped students on the court but in the classroom too.

He said since the program had been implemented, he had seen a significant increase in student participation and motivation.

About 55 students were at the game on March 15 on the school’s basketball court, which was not only a demonstration of the Wildcats’ skills but their compassion, with many players lifting up their considerably shorter opposing players to shoot goals.
