AFL draft: Peel Thunder prospect Bo Allan in action for AFL Academy against VFL side Footscray

Matt ZisMandurah Times

Young Peel prospect Bo Allan took his wares to the national stage last weekend, kitting up for the AFL Academy team against VFL side Footscray.

Allan was the only Thunder male in action this weekend as Peel’s league, reserves and colts sides all had a bye.

The 18-year-old has held his own this season among the bigger bodies for Peel playing as a third tall defender and was in the thick of it against a strong squad of AFL-listed Bulldogs, who won the game at Whitten Oval by 55 points.

Allan missed the first Academy match against Coburg three weeks ago because of a minor foot complaint.

The WAFL’s under-16 Futures season finished three weeks ago and the Thunder’s best youngsters were honoured last week at the Ben Howlett Medal night, where Mckenna Pringle won a tight count ahead of fellow State squad member Drew Clarke.
