A BALCATTA start-up is partnering with the Perth Wildcats.

Internet service provider Pentanet has been named the NBL club’s major sponsor for the 2018-19 season.

The company was founded by a group of gamers in their early 30s who became so frustrated with slow internet speeds that they built their own network.

It offers an internet service that delivers download speeds at least twice as fast as the standard rate of the National Broadband Network.

Pentanet has rapidly expanded since being established and now has coverage across more than half of Perth suburbs.

Managing director Stephen Cornish said they were thrilled to team up with the Wildcats.

“Just like the Wildcats, we’re local, we’re fast and we’re all about WA,” he said.

Under the sponsorship agreement, Pentanet’s branding will be shown on players’ home and away jerseys, as well as on the home game court and scoreboard at Perth Arena.
