HAIRDRESSER Sophia Clewley does not believe in a trim.

That is because the London-trained owner of The Source Hairdressing views a haircut as an experience.

Ms Clewley provides a holistic experience in her luxuriously appointed salon, which relocated from Joondalup to North Beach last year.

Appointments begin with a “sensory journey” and finish with a “love box” gift containing an inspiring message and chocolate.

“It’s really about how they feel when they leave,” Ms Clewley said.

“Our guests always leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, with a sense of wholeness.”

She aims to create a positive space focused on nurturing the mind, body and spirit, which is why she also offers meditation classes and mentoring.

“I know a lot of clients walk into a salon and feel uncomfortable,” she said.

“It’s about empowering women to go, ‘I am enough’.”

Despite Ms Clewley’s expansion into other areas and a view to offer more workshops in the future, quality hairdressing services remains the crux of the business.

She has more than 30 years experience in hairdressing and people come from as far as Gingin and Fremantle for her services.

“I specialise in all types of cutting, from short hair to curly hair, as well as being a director of colour,” she said.

The salon uses Aveda natural hair products and is part of the national Sustainable Salons network, which means it recycles items used in the salon including hair, and takes ponytail donations to make wigs for charities.

Ms Clewley said her ethos resonated with people in the North Beach area and was excited to continue her vision for the salon and remain an inspiration for women.
