The pair are finalists in The AusMumpreneur Awards, which recognises Australian mums achieving outstanding success in business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation.
Ms Bryden, a mother of two from Stirling, said she was thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase their business in the same arena as the other incredible nominees.
It is humbling to be nominated alongside them and I’m sure it will be an incredible learning experience that will help us improve our business, she said.
I hope that being nominated for these awards will shine a spotlight on the business that mum and I have been working on for the past four years and hopefully lead to some new opportunities.
Our product solves the frustrating conundrum of having to choose between being sun-smart or stylish, and the response has been overwhelming.
Mrs Intini, whose experience as a clinical theatre nurse inspired the booming business, said she had seen skin cancer sufferers avoiding sun-safety because existing products compromised their style or gave them hat-hair.
A global search unearthed a gap in the market for a modern sun umbrella with appropriate UV protection, so we took on the challenge to develop one, Ms Bryden said.
Weve transformed the traditional parasol into an innovative and stylish accessory that provides UV protection.
The awards are decided by public vote, with winners announced at an awards dinner in Melbourne on September 5.
