LAWRENCE Oboh is bringing traditional African culture to Osborne Park.

He opened Tribal Village on Scarborough Beach Road, which claims to offer Australia’s largest range of African products, in an effort to show the continent’s beauty.

There are more than 6000 items such as traditional homewares, artwork sourced direct from African artists and tribal pieces across the 640sq m store.

“(Africa) is a beautiful place with magnificent historical culture about it dating back thousands of years – it has contributed to how we live in our modern society,” Mr Oboh said.

“Essentially when you walk into Tribal Village, you witness humanity at its finest through traditional arts and crafts handed down through generations.”

“In a world where there are cheap knock-offs and photocopies of cultural works from throughout the world, we offer the real thing.”

Mr Oboh travels regularly to Africa to source products and returns a percentage of sales to the suppliers.

Items on offer at the store include ceramics, bolga baskets, rugs, jewellery, furniture, tribal masks and shields, statues, djembe drums, plants and Moroccan silverware.

Tribal Village is at 376 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park.
