Ocean Heroes received a $1000 grant from Bankwest that will help it expand to regional areas.

Co-founder Luke Hallam said the funds would be used to enable more people to attend their sessions.

“Our events are completely free for every participant who comes down and when we announce an upcoming event we always book out almost straight away,” he said.

“So we’ll be using the Bankwest Easy Grant to buy new lifejackets – an essential part of keeping our participants safe during our events.

“Everyone has to wear one and with around 150 people at each session, plus the many volunteers who come down to help out, that’s a lot of lifejackets.”
