Alice in Cuckoo Land: Hamersley panto puts a Christmas spin on classic tale

CHARACTERS from Alice in Wonderland get a dose of Christmas cheer in an upcoming pantomime in Hamersley.

Endeavour Theatre Company is staging the colourful Alice in Cuckoo Land production in November.

President Christine Evans described it as a hilarious Christmas-themed pantomime featuring well-known, interesting characters.

“Pantomimes are enjoyed especially by children, but many adults enjoy them also,” she said. “Many of the jokes are corny but it is good to have a laugh these days.”

The comedic tale by Peter Nuttall follows Alice, Chester the Cheshire cat, Floppy the white rabbit and the Mad Hatter as they try to free Santa Claus from the Queen of Hearts’ dungeon.

It runs at Hamersley Community Recreation Centre from November 10-12 and 17-19.

Tickets cost $22 for adults and $15 for children under 12.
