With more than 2000 stores worldwide, the Booragoon Zara will open its first West Australian store on Thursday, August 21, and be the 10th Zara store to open nationally since launching in Sydney, 2011.

The two-level store will house a full range of innovative fashion and accessory designs for women, men and children.

Garden City’s senior centre manager Darin Maher said he was looking forward to Zara joining the centre.

‘The addition of Zara at Garden City elevates the broader fashion offering for Perth shoppers,’ he said.

‘It also reinforces that one of the powerhouses of international fashion, Zara, strongly believes in the strong fundamentals of the Perth market, which is likely to give other international brands the confidence to also enter the WA market in the future.

‘We are really proud to be the first centre on WA to introduce a large format international fashion brand like Zara, particularly as this is what our customers have been asking for.’

Mr Maher said whispers of the retailer’s imminent arrival in WA had sent shoppers into a spin and West Australians would finally get a taste of what was available overseas and east.

‘News about the introduction of Zara’s first WA store has really excited shoppers, and when it opens, it will enhance the already comprehensive range of fashion available in Perth,’ he said.

‘The crowds anticipated for the opening of Zara will see a huge increase in visitation to the centre, which will only bring benefit to our existing retailers.’

The addition of Zara to Garden City is the first of many plans in the works for AMP Capital in WA, following recent approval to progress a $750 million centre expansion.
