INNALOO great-grandmother Gladys Rankin has celebrated her 100th birthday.

About 90 people gathered to mark the occasion at Doubleview Bowling Club on April 21, including her five children, 11 grandchildren (one absent) and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mrs Rankin was born in England and moved to Australia with her parents and two sisters at age 10.

She spent her childhood in the Bridgetown area before moving to Perth at age 19, where she met her husband.

The couple was married for 68 years, until Mr Rankin’s death in 2006, just shy of his 100th birthday.

Fellow residents at Shawford Lodge held another celebration on Mrs Rankin’s birthday on April 23.
