CITY of Stirling staff are gearing up for the opening of the much-anticipated $26 million Scarborough Beach Pool on January 22.

A City spokeswoman said staff were busy with final preparations.

“Some of the tasks being completed include final staff training and induction for new customer service and aquatic staff,” she said.

“Many of the staff are experienced and have worked across the other aquatic facilities throughout the City.”

Third party works are ongoing for the two commercial tenancies, including a fit-out of the Cafe Cocolat in the lower tenancy to open before the opening, and continuing fit-out of the Italian restaurant La Capannina in the upper tenancy, which is scheduled to open in March.
