Laura PondStirling Times

POLICE have charged two men and are looking for a third who allegedly stole a car and $40,000 from Perth’s northern suburbs.

Officers allege they saw a Mistibushi Pajero, believed stolen from Regent Motors in Subiaco between December 13 and 14, being driven recklessly down Scarborough Beach Road in Innaloo on December 15 at about 10.30am.

They stopped the car outside McDonalds Innaloo and arrested a rear passenger while the driver and front passenger fled.

Two hours later they received a report of a Toyota Prado stolen from an underground carpark on nearby Tassels Place, near Ikea, and $40,000 stolen from a Mercedes Benz owned by an employee of a nearby restaurant.

The Mercedes driver tried to physically stop the thieves leaving the scene in the Prado but was nearly hit by the car.

On December 17, Mirrabooka Detectives searched the home of a 37-year-old Yokine man and arrested him in relation to the incidents.

They allegedly seized the Prado, 100 suspected stolen items, $3600 cash, 2.2g of methamphetamine, 33g of cocaine and 16g of heroin.

Included in the items was music memorabilia believed stolen from Kosmic Sound in Osborne Park the previous day and personal documents taken from a Subiaco business and home, cars in North Beach and Tuart Hill, and Marmion Angling and Aquatic Club.

The accused is facing two charges of stealing a motor vehicle, endangering the life, health or safety of a person, possession of stolen property, burglary, stealing, driving without a license and drug possession.

A 44-year-old Landsdale man arrested in Innaloo will face charges of providing false details and stealing a motor vehicle.

Police have identified the third man they believe was involved in the offences.
