Arson Squad believes fire at Doubleview home deliberately lit

ARSON Squad Detectives need help to find the person responsible for a fire at a Doubleview home.

They believe a fire that caused more than $200,000 damage to the Holbeck Street property on January 28 was deliberately lit.

A neighbour noticed the blaze and woke the occupant, who called emergency services about 4.15am.

It is believed the fire started in the carport before reaching the roof and spreading to the rest of the unit.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who was in the area about the time of the fire or earlier in the evening who saw any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles.

Rewards of up to $50,000 are available for information that leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
