Balcatta and Mt Claremont Schools to become independent

TWO northern suburbs schools are among more than 40 that will become Independent Public Schools next year.

West Balcatta and Mount Claremont primary schools will be independent from 2019.

Education Minister Sue Ellery announced an additional 42 schools as part of the 2019 intake, which would take the total number of Independent Public Schools in WA to 573.

“WA is leading the way in giving local schools and communities more say on their children’s education,” she said.

“By helping schools and communities come together, we are ensuring children’s learning, welfare and development is the driving force of all decisions.”
