Balcatta: Chemist Jim Koios celebrates 30 years at Northlands Pharmacy

2018 was a big year for one northern suburbs chemist.

Jim Koios marked 30 years at the helm of Northlands Pharmacy in Balcatta.

“It has been a wonderful experience,” Mr Koios told customers and staff at a mid-year celebration.

“I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to be associated with such a lovely community who have entrusted my team and I to take care of them and their healthcare needs.”

His staff had grown from six in 1988 to about 30, including nurse practitioners and nurses who helped with general inquiries and support for parents with babies and toddlers.

“Some of those original staff are still part of the team today,” he said. “That is a true example of loyalty.”

He said his staff, which he thanked, valued spending time with customers and learning about their families and interests. There was also banter about local AFL teams the Eagles and Dockers.
