DISNEY and Bollywood unite in a Karrinyup fundraiser to help Perth children in need.

Bollywood Dance Studio is staging a musical production of Beauty and the Beast on June 16 to raise money for Telethon Kids Institute.

Founder Maitri Patel developed the storyline, which is inspired by the Disney classic and given a Bollywood twist.

“Everyone enjoys the upbeat music, elaborate dance sequences, sequined costumes and a happy Disney ending in a musical,” she said.

“We have combined the best elements of Beauty and the Beast storyline with a fun and glamorous Bollywood dance routines into a musical format.

“We have more than 65 dancers ranging from three years of age to 70 performing on stage and dancing their heart out.”

Ms Patel said they hoped to raise more than $10,000 for the children’s charity.

Bolly Beauty and the Beast is on Saturday, June 16 from 5pm at St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School in Karrinyup.

Tickets cost from $20 for children and $25 for adults and food is available for pre-purchase.
