The press conference was scheduled to take place at the consulate on Adelaide Terrace in Perth’s CBD on Tuesday, December 3, but was cancelled by the Indonesian Government.

Indonesian John said he was disappointed when he heard the consulate had cancelled the press conference ahead of the December 6 fight against South Africa’s Simpiwe Vetyeka at Metro City.

During a late notice press conference, last Friday, November 29, at a gym in Balcatta, John said he wanted to act as a mediator between the countries.

‘Its not good for everyone here including me,’ he said. ‘Hopefully we can hold together because I’m training here, I’m good, I’m from Indonesia and I think it would be good if we work together.’
