The WA Camera Club members receive numerous awards at the State Photography Competition

TUART Hill photographer Ray Ross has an eye for a good shot.

The WA Camera Club (WACC) president won the gold award at a recent State photography competition for his monochrome print of the Sydney Opera House.

Another WACC member, Robert Woodbury of Scarborough, won gold for a colour photograph taken at night near a farm in Northam.

More than 500 images were submitted but only 100 selected as finalists.

‘Only 20 per cent of entries made the grade,’ Mr Ross said.

‘But happily 40 per cent of our club’s images made it to the final judging.’

The WACC meets twice a month at the Tuart Hill Community Centre.
