The WA Camera Club (WACC) president won the gold award at a recent State photography competition for his monochrome print of the Sydney Opera House.

Another WACC member, Robert Woodbury of Scarborough, won gold for a colour photograph taken at night near a farm in Northam.

More than 500 images were submitted but only 100 selected as finalists.

‘Only 20 per cent of entries made the grade,’ Mr Ross said.
