THE Scarborough foreshore northern car park has reopened after refurbishments were completed.

The 84-bay all-day free car park is located at the end of Manning Street, accessible from the ramp across from eatery Peter’s by the Sea.

From the new car park there is easy access to Sunset Hill, the temporary Scarboro Surf Life Saving facility as well as all the shops, cafes and restaurants along The Esplanade.

A Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority spokeswoman said minor works to complete the landscaping and lighting would continue over the next few weeks and were due to be completed by August.

“All day free parking in Wilson parking on Manning Street ended on June 18, but parking for the first two hours will still be free and $5 for the day,” she said.
