It is calling on residents to take gifts to its Osborne Park office where they will be distributed at its Christmas Lunch in the Park or to purchase them online at https://|www.missionaustralia.com.au/christmaslunch

Mission Australia state director Melissa Perry said all contributions would help cover the cost of making Christmas Day a special one for up to 2000 people who might be isolated or lonely.

‘Our lunch is open to people from all walks of life ” it’s about bringing the community together to celebrate the Christmas spirit.’

This year’s ‘face’ of Christmas Lunch in the Park, single mother Shannon Martin from High Wycombe, has been bringing her three boys to the event for the past three years.

‘Christmas Lunch in the Park is my gift to my boys to make sure they have a wonderful day and experience the joy of Christmas Day,’ Ms Martin said. ‘It’s great to be able to share the day with so many different people and see the smiles on all the kids’ faces when Santa arrives. It’s a very special day.’

– Gifts for people of all ages can be delivered to Mission Australia’s office at 34 Hasler Rd Osborne Park. Alternatively, they can be purchased at https://www.missionaustralia.com.au/christmaslunch
