Churchlands: driver taken to hospital after crashing car into tree

A FEMALE driver has been taken to hospital after the car she was driving crashed into a tree in Churchlands this morning.

Police, ambulance officers and Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews were called to Pearson Street near Hale Road about 6.45am on Thursday to reports of a single vehicle crash.

They arrived to find a woman trapped in her car after having crashed into a tree on the side of the road.

The car was severely damaged and it took  a team of emergency service officer to free the woman who was the only occupant of the car.

The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital via ambulance.

Her injuries are unknown at this stage.
