City of Stirling invites feedback on council ward changes

Laura PondStirling Times

COUNCILLOR ward boundaries in the City of Stirling are being reviewed to fix an imbalance.

Ratepayers can have their say on how the wards should change to address imbalances in the ratio of voters to councillors in two wards.

Doubleview Ward voters are under represented and Hamersley Ward voters are over represented in the current boundaries.

The City has created four options: one that realigns the Doubleview and Hamersley boundaries; another that would change the Coastal, Doubleview and Hamersley ward areas; one to realign Coastal, Doubleview, Osborne and Hamersley; or a fourth option to reduce the number of wards from seven to four.
