READERS can now workout at their local library.

City of Stirling has introduced exercise bikes with tables attached so people can read while they ride.

The ingenious initiative is available at its six libraries in Dianella, Inglewood, Karrinyup, Mirrabooka, Osborne and Scarborough.

Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin said it was a creative way to encourage people to visit local libraries.

According to the City, the “reading bikes” were already proving popular with library members and staff.
