PET owners in the City of Stirling can take advantage of discounted pet registration fees.

The City is offering half price one-year registrations for dogs and cats that have not been registered before.

Mayor Mark Irwin said he hoped it would encourage more residents to register their pets.

“It doesn’t matter how long you’ve had your pet or how old they are, this is an opportunity for you to register them at a fraction of the usual cost,” he said.

“If a dog or cat goes missing and it’s not registered with the City, it can be difficult for us to reunite them with their owners unless they are in the City’s system.

“So by registering your cat or dog, you are not only doing yourself a favour but your pet as well.”

The discount applies to the one-year fee only and is available until the end of October.

The fee for sterilised dogs and cats is $10 or $5 for concession and unsterilised pets cost $25 or $12.50 for concession.

Registration forms are available at www.stirling.wa.gov.au/petregistration.
