THE City of Stirling has joined with national paint recycler Paintback to offer a free paint recycling day.
Stirling Mayor Giovanni Italiano encouraged tradespeople and householders to bring their cans of paint to the City of Stirling Administration Building carpark for disposal on November 19 from 8.00am to noon.
“If you’re thinking about spring cleaning the shed, and need to dispose of a few paint cans, or if you have a larger amount because you’re a commercial painter, bring them to our Paintback recycling day and they’ll be safely disposed of,” Cr Italiano said.
Up to 100 litres per vehicle can be dropped off.
A range of paint products can be disposed of, including interior and exterior paint, primers, stains, varnishes and packaging.
Products such as resins, two-component coatings, aerosol and automotive paints are not accepted.
Some donated paint tins will be set aside to pass on to community groups and schools.
Paintback is an industry initiative to divert architectural and decorative waste paint and packaging from landfill.
