CANINES and their companions can enjoy a fun day out in North Beach on Sunday.

The City of Stirling’s annual Paw-some Day Out will offer a variety of dog-related stallholders, registration and microchipping services, competitions and food vendors, and rangers will be on hand to answer questions about responsible dog ownership.

See if your pooch has what it takes to take out the best dressed competition or enter them in the best trick or food eating challenge.

Mayor Giovanni Italiano said it would be a great day for dogs and owners.

“It’s a wonderful day out for the community where dog owners can treat their much-loved pooches to some entertaining activities like the Doggy Go Go Obstacle Dash,” he said.

“It was real hit at last year’s event, so it should prove popular again this time round with entrants as well as spectators.”

The free event is at the dog exercise area at Charles Riley Memorial Reserve in North Beach on Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

Contest entry fee is a gold coin donation and money raised will go to Guide Dogs WA.
